Community Garden
THE NANCY HOLLYWOOD COMMUNITY GARDEN
FEEDING THE BODIES, MINDS, AND SOULS OF OUR COMMUNITY
The Nancy Hollywood Community Garden at St. Paul’s currently has 14 double-raised beds—2 that support the Food Bank, 2 for St. Paul’s use, and 10 for rent to the community that can be used for personal use or to grow food for the Food Bank.
THE FIVE GOALS OF OUR COMMUNITY GARDEN:
*Fulfill our Christian obligation to feed those in need
*Renew our appreciation of our earthly home by teaching sustainable organic farming practices
*Teach healthy eating habits through nutritional instruction and harvest celebration meals
*To further “plant” St. Paul’s into the community around us
*Provide new outreach opportunities and projects for our youth
The Community Garden is a wonderful new way to connect and socialize with others, feeding our bodies, minds, and spirits, for a happier, more successful life.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The nonprofit garden is a great investment in our community’s future. There are many ways to contribute. Come share your knowledge and passion for gardening, or your expertise and strong arms for building, or your generosity.
YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES
There are many ways our community youth can get involved. Volunteering at the garden is a wonderful way to meet senior project requirements, scout badges, or learning about organic sustainable gardening practices.
Youth groups are welcomed to sponsor a bed and grow food for the Food Bank. It is a wonderful way to help those in need. This year, we have five young men working at the garden to fulfill various community service requirements.
