Sunday School

frontwindowSunday School is held Sunday mornings during the worship service. The children attend Church with their parents and will be dismissed to their classrooms with their teachers after the opening prayer. They return to receive communion.

We offer classes for: Ages 2-3 Pre-k/K Grades 1-2 Grades 3-4 Grades 5-6 Our Sunday School program uses music, songs, stories, games and crafts to teach about the Bible, Jesus Christ, and the Episcopal Church. The Sunday School curriculum helps the children to Know the Word of God, Grow in Faith, and Show Service in Christ’s name. We have wonderful and dedicated teachers and we use a Team Teacher approach where each teacher is responsible for teaching a class on an alternating week schedule.

Nursery

Infants are cared for by trained nursery attendants in our newly renovated nursery during the 10 AM Service.

Grades 1-5

We will be using a new 3 year Episcopal Curriculum called “Weaving God’s Promises”. Weaving God’s Promises is a three-year Christian education program for children ages 3 (preschool) to 11-12 (5th-6th grade). The curriculum was developed and written exclusively for the Episcopal Church. It’s titled Weaving God’s Promises after the process of faith formation in which we learn how God’s promises of salvation are inextricably woven into our lives.

The goal of Weaving God’s Promises is to teach children the way of Christ, not only in the church but also in the world, and to give them a solid grounding for future youth formation programs, which in turn will prepare them for Christian adulthood.

Weaving God’s Promises provides children with basic knowledge of Church teachings in the three elements essential to the practice of our faith. Each is dependent on the other in order for the faith to stand firmly:

1.Christian Education  2.Worship   3.Service
