The Missions Trust was established in 1973 to provide financial assistance toward activities that would improve the condition of the general community. Awards may be given to people, groups, or institutions, for purposes such as education, medical expenses, in support of non-profit activities providing services to those in need, or even construction or maintenance of buildings for charitable use. Although the Trust is primarily intended to be utilized to aid the community external to St. Paul’s Parish, aid may also be provided inside the parish for the same purposes as it would be done in the community.

The Trustees of the Fund are the Vestry of St. Paul’s West Whiteland. However, recommendations for awards from the Missions Trust are submitted by the Grants Committee. This committee consists of the Rector of St. Paul’s, one member of the Vestry of St. Paul’s, and one "at-large" member of the Parish. The Vestry member and parishioner are elected annually. Award recommendations of the Grants Committee are taken forward to the Trustees for approval. Any member of St. Paul’s Parish may make a request for the distribution of funds from the Missions Trust in additon to the receipt of outside grant applications.

St. Paul’s Mission’s Trust provides a wonderful opportunity for mission/outreach giving. It has been used to aid over 350 agencies and 35 individuals and groups over its more than 30 years of disbursing grants. Through the Missions Trust, the Parish of St. Paul’s can be assured of the continued ability to reach out in Christ's love and service.
